[Made in Shiga]
Among the artists who are attracting attention in Japan and abroad, you may be surprised to hear that many of them are associated with the Shiga prefecture. The area near Kyoto has a large lake and many mountains, where Shigaraki, the town where one of Japan's six ancient kilns is located at, has accumulated much knowledge and skills in producing large-scale artworks. With such geographical features, Shiga Prefecture can been seen as an undiscovered center of art. This summer, "Made in Shiga" will be exhibiting in Omotesando, Tokyo.
Participating artists: En Iwamura, Ueda Yuji, Yoichi Umetsu, Ozawa Sakae, Yuriko Sasaoka, Kenji Chiga, Akane Saijo, Sachie Noda, Mai Miyake, Tomomi Yasueda, Takeshi Yasura.
