Starting from March 1st (Saturday), Kouzo Takeuchi will participate in the "Collection and New Acquisitions Exhibition" held at the Ibaraki Ceramic Art Museum. On display will be 100 pieces of newly aquired work in 2024 by 36 artists (including groups) .
The exhibition features a wide range of works, including the' Iron Glazed Large Horse Vase' by Hara Kiyoshi, an important Intangible Cultural Heritage holder of "Iron Glazed Ceramics," as well as works by artists such as Toshirō Hori, Chitose Ando, Kō Ando, Yuka Hayashi, and Akira Shinzato, who have been active in the Mino area of Gifu Prefecture, known for its long history of pottery. Visitors will also be able to view a collection of works showcasing the transition of Akira Wada's style from early to recent years, delicate patterns in the Ittin technique by Yuko Sawatani, and the distinctive Shino ware of American artist Adam Silverman.
Additionally on display will be Akiko Ozutsumi’s uniquely themed tea utensils featuring animals, as well as a variety of pieces by Akido Hanawa, a pioneering individual artist in Kasama who was active before the war. In addition to ceramics, there are finely detailed Edo Komon striped dyeing works by Eiichi Asano, which reflect the rich tradition of craft artists in Ibaraki.
