Sokyo initiated its new artist-in-residence program at Sokyo Annex on Saturday, April 20, 2024,
The primary aim of this program is to reduce the transport of artworks for exhibitions and to reduce CO2 emissions to a minimum. The invited artists will create in Kyoto, collaborate with local artists and craftspeople, exhibit, as well as engage with Kyoto's traditional culture, art, food and local communities. The goal is to create a better society through art, regardless of the political situation, race, gender, age and other various frameworks in different countries.
