1954       Graduated from Kyoto Municipal Hiyoshigaoka High School,

Pottery Art Department Started basic research on casting and glaze as student at Kyoto

Municipal Industrial Arts Research Institute

1957       Graduated from Kyoto Municipal Industrial Arts Research Institute, completing the Ceramic Artist Special Training Course

1975       First solo exhibition at Odakyu Department Store in Tokyo

1993       First solo exhibition at Takashimaya Osaka Store

1994       His work being displayed at the "Special Exhibition Commemorating the 1200th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Heian Capital -Clay, Fire and Craftsmanship" at the Museum of Kyoto

2003       Dedicated his works to Ise Shrine

Awards

1957       Started to study under his elder brother potter, KIMURA Morikazu

Accepted for the Asahi Contemporary Ceramic Arts Exhibition for the first time

1959       Accepted for the Kyoto Art Exhibition for the first time

His work being selected as a special entry to the Exhibition "Contemporary Japanese Ceramic Art" at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo

1963       Accepted for the 10th Exhibition of Japanese TraditionalArt Crafts for the first time

1966       Established residence in Yamashina, Kyoto.

Elected as an official member of Japan Kogei Association

1970       The Foreign Ministry acquired his "Tenmoku Glaze Jar" displayed in the 17th Exhibition of Japanese Traditional Art Crafts

1972       Received Award of Excellence (Kinki Branch Manager's Award) for his "Tenmoku Glaze Jar" at the Kinki Branch Exhibition of Japan Kogei Association

1978       Received Award of Excellence (Osaka Board of Education Chairman's Award) for his "Shoju Tenmoku Jar" at the 7th Kinki Branch Exhibition of Japan Kogei Association

1980       Elected as a member of Kyoto Arts Association

1983       Enrolled as a member of Kyoto Craft Artists Association

2005       Received Kyoto Prefecture Cultural Award for Distinguished Services
